Please be aware of the following requirements before installing and using GlobalProtect:
SeattleU staff, faculty, and student accounts must be configured for multifactor authentication. Please review this support document if you have not yet setup multifactor authentication.
This application is compatible with Windows versions 10 or 11, either 32-bit or 64-bit
This application is not compatible with:
Windows 10 UWP (devices running the ARM processor including Microsoft Surface Pro X). This device requires a different GlobalProtect client. Please open a ticket with servicedesk@seattleu.edu requesting the GlobalProtect client for Windows UWP.
Any Windows operating system version categorized as end-of-support by Microsoft, including Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8

This setup guide covers two user scenarios
|
ITS-managed Windows Computer
NOTE: This method will install the pre-packaged application. It does not require Admin privileges.
In the Windows Search field, enter company portal then click the Company Portal App
Click the Apps option at the left
Locate GlobalProtect in the Apps list, or enter global protect in the Search apps field at the top of the window
Click GlobalProtect then click Install. The only prompt you will receive is when the installation is complete.
Open GlobalProtect
If prompted for the Portal enter remote.seattleu.edu
Enter your SeattleU userID in the form username@seattleu.edu when prompted
Enter your password when prompted
Complete the multi-factor authentication when prompted. Once successfully authenticated, the GlobalProtect window will show Connected as shown below. You are now connected to the internal SeattleU network and you can access secured internal resources.

NOTE: The multifactor authentication in GlobalProtect caches your username and password after the first successful connection. When you click Connect in future GlobalProtect sessions, you will not be prompted to enter your username and password if you have authenticated to any SeattleU resource requiring multifactor authentication within the last 7 days from this computer.
To run GlobalProtect as a different user, such as a student employee, you have to log out of all Microsoft authenticated services in order to be prompted for a different username and password. The steps are detailed in (pending).
Personal Windows Computer
SeattleU staff, faculty, and students with a valid SeattleU username can download the GlobalProtect Windows client from here. The application is hosted at the SeattleU ITS Sharepoint site.
Save the file to your Downloads folder
Double click the GlobalProtect file to begin the installation
Click Next through the prompts to complete the installation
Open GlobalProtect
When prompted for the Portal enter remote.seattleu.edu
Enter your SeattleU userID in the form username@seattleu.edu when prompted
Enter your password when prompted
