If you attempt sending email to a seattleu.edu email address and receive a bounce message with the following error message:

554 5.4.12 SMTP; Hop count exceeded - possible mail loop detected

This is an indication that the email address does not exist.

Please check the spelling of the email address, and check with the recipient that the address is correct. If this is a new or returning staff or faculty member, please reach out to Human Resources or Faculty Services to make sure the account has been completely reactivated. If this is a new or returning student, please be sure the student has finished enrollment and completed all steps to activate or reactivate their account.
