ITS provides wired and wireless network services in the Bellarmine, Campion, Chardin, Douglas, Murphy Apts, and Xavier residence halls. Third-party wired and wireless access is provided to the Vi Hilbert Hall apartments, Kolvenbach houses, Logan Court condominiums, and Yobi apartments.

Wired Network in Bellarmine, Campion, Chardin, Douglas, Murphy Apts, and Xavier:
One network jack is available per student. One or more jacks may also be available in select common areas such as lounges, study rooms, or lobbies.
Internet access from a Reshall wired network jack does not require any authentication
Each wired network jack will provide 90-100Mb/sec of throughput

Wireless Networks in Bellarmine, Campion, Chardin, Douglas, Murphy Apts, and Xavier:
SU-secure is recommended for use by computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. SU-secure requires authentication by a valid SeattleU username and password.
SU-visitor requires device registration as opposed to user authentication. SU-visitor has two use cases:
Short term ad-hoc use by visiting family members, friends, or summer event attendees
Internet access for devices that are not compatible with SU-secure (such as only using a password to access a WiFi network), are used daily or frequently each week, and the process of re-registering a device every 24 hours will be inconvenient. Such devices include gaming consoles, entertainment systems, audio/video streaming devices, TVs, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices other non-computer devices.
Note: It is recommended that streaming content always be accessed over a wired connection when possible. Wired connections provide consistent throughput and do not suffer from multiple device congestion as WiFi does.

In order to minimize interference to Seattle University WiFi networks, residents in Bellarmine, Campion, Chardin, Douglas, Murphy Apartments, and Xavier are not allowed to install or use any device that broadcasts a WiFi network or intentionally disrupts Seattle University WiFi access. This includes, but is not limited to:
Wireless access points
Wireless routers or firewalls
Wireless storage devices
Adhoc wireless networks
