Returning a Form

This page goes over how to return a form, which means sending it back to the user at the previous step. This can happen if you needed the previous user to correct or clarify something in the form.

  • Suppose you receive an email notification from SU forms, notifying you that your action is required on a form. Click on the highlighted to access that form:

     

  • After clicking on the link, you will be directed to your Etrieve page, with the form on question opened on the right highlighted panel as shown:

 

  • Suppose the user from the previous step made an error, such as put in their name instead of their email address in the highlighted field:

     

  • Thus, we should send this form back to the user from the previous step. All we need to do, is click on the return button on the bottom of the page in the action bar:

 

  • Before returning the form to the previous user, we must tell them why we are returning it. To do that, we just have to add a comment.

Adding Comments

  • To add a comment, go the action bar on the bottom of the page and click on “History”

     

  • After you click on “History”, a box will open up, where you can type in your comment:

     

  • After typing your comment, make sure to click on “Save” or else your comment would not be posted. After clicking on “Save”, you will see your comment in a grey box:

     

  • If you want to edit or delete your comment, click on the three dots on the right sight of your comments as shown:

     

  • Comments will be in grey boxed

  • Workflow steps will be in purple boxes

Make sure to always leave a comment before hitting the “Return” button. Once you hit “Return”, you will not be able to add comments afterwards.

Returning a Form

  • After adding a comment, you can return a form to the previous user from the previous step of the form’s workflow by clicking on the “Return” button on the action bar:

  • After clicking on “Return”, a box will pop up, listing the users from the previous steps. Click on the user you want to return the form to:
