  • If needed, use one of the available adapters to plug into a USB-C or mini displayport port (see here for examples)

  • Turn on the TV using the available remote. The power button should always be at the top (see here for examples).

    • If there is no remote, or the remote doesn’t seem to work, see here

  • The laptop should now be displaying on the TV. If this is not the case, see the common issues section below. Please remember to turn the TV off when finished.

Common Issues

No signal on TV

  • Check the TV input

    • Check which input on the back of the TV the HDMI cord is connected into (i.e. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) and then use the remote control to select this input on the TV.

    • You should be able to press the input/source button multiple times to cycle through inputs, until the TV display indicates the selected input matches the one the cable is connected to. Below are some examples of input/source buttons.

TV won’t turn on

  • If you previously tried turning it on with the remote, press the power button on the TV

    • The power button is usually located along the bottom edge, but sometimes on the side edge or back panel near the side. Here are some examples of what to look for:

  • If the TV doesn’t turn on after pressing the power button, make sure the TV’s power cord is plugged into an outlet, and the other end is firmly plugged into the TV, if applicable.
