    • You will need to do this even if you are using the imac, since the imac is connected to the projector and sound system through the blu ray player

    • To turn on the blu-ray player, press the power button on the left side of the player, or point the oppo remote at the player and press the red power button at the top left

Common Issues

Below are several common issues that you may experience with this equipment, and bulleted suggestions for troubleshooting them. Use the list of links below to skip to the relevant issue. If you still need or desire help, please feel free to contact ITS.

Projector won’t turn on

Projector image is not showing content from computer

Projector image is not showing content from either input

Projector doesn’t show the same content as my computer screen

No sound from computer

Projector won’t turn on

  • Change the batteries in the panasonic remote, if possible, and try to turn the projector on again

Projector image is not showing content from computer

  • Make sure the blu ray player is turned on - since the imac is connected to the projector and sound system through the blu ray player, it must be turned on when using either device with the projector

  • Cycle through all inputs on the blu ray player - use the “input” button on the top left corner of the oppo blu-ray remote (labeled on the remote accordingly) to switch between the blu-ray player and imac being displayed on the projector.

    • if the projector shows an image from the blu ray player on one of the inputs, continue through this section

    • if the projector does not show an image on any input, skip to the next section.

  • Check the display cable connections - This imac is connected to the projector via a USB-C to HDMI cable adapter plugged into the back of the imac screen, which is connected to an HDMI cable plugged into an input on the blu ray player.

    • Check that all of these cables are securely plugged in

    • Try unplugging and plugging the cable back into the imac

Projector image is not showing content from either input

  • Make sure the blu ray player is turned on (skip this step if you already checked) - since the imac is connected to the projector and sound system through the blu ray player, it must be turned on when using either device with the projector

  • Check the projector input: The projector should be on an HDMI input, and should not be changed. Press the “source” button repeatedly to cycle through inputs

    • be sure to check every input labeled as HDMI

    • we recommend checking projector inputs after trying further troubleshooting steps if the problem persists, unless you can see on the projector which HDMI input has a cable plugged into it

    • further steps will not work if the projector has been switched off of the correct input.

Projector doesn’t show the same content as my computer screen

Mac os allow the user to have two separate desktops when using multiple displays. If you find the computer in this configuration, and you prefer to have your computer screen and projector showing the same thing, we recommend trying the following :

Log into your profile, then use the shortcut [Command] + [fn] + [F1] to switch to mirrored displays

  • If this doesn’t work, try [Command] + [F1]

No sound from computer

  • Check all volume controls, including:

    • volume wheel on the surround sound processor (labeled accordingly)

    • volume/mute control on the imac

    • volume/mute settings in the program/window you are using

  • Check the audio output device on the imac

    • See here for instructions on how to do this. if you aren’t sure which is the correct device, try them all

    • Some software requires you to select an audio output device independent of the system default, so be sure to check this if applicable

  • If everything above seems to be correct and the settings of the speakers and mixer are correct, please contact ITS for more help.
