Selecting a computer

Selecting a Video/Audio Source

Pressing the PC icon will show either the PC or Mac on the displays, depending on which one you have selected on the grey KVM switch. If you are connecting a laptop or personal device, press the Podium HDMI or Podium USB-C icon, depending on which type of cable you are using to connect the laptop.

Connecting a laptop

You may connect a laptop either before or after selecting the appropriate touch panel input. The laptop cables can be found in a cubby/pocket with a retractable cover near the back of the podium surface.

HDMI and USB-C cables can carry audio signals to play on the classroom speakers. If you are having trouble displaying an image or playing sound from your laptop, please see https://seattleuniversity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ISD/pages/1685520393.

These are the functions of the buttons labeled above:

  1. audio mute - mutes/unmutes the audio coming from the room speakers

  2. volume controls - changes the volume of audio coming from the room speakers

  3. video mute/screen blank - instantly turns the large TV displays blank without turning off the TVs

When you are finished:

Please turn off the TVs by pressing the “System Shutdown” button at the top right of the touch panel.

You will then be asked to confirm that you would like to shut down - press “Yes”. Pressing the “video mute” button only blanks the screens without shutting them off.
