Teams Premium is an add-on to Teams that includes several features that may be useful to those who use Teams meetings heavily. Below are features of Teams Premium and instructions for using them.

Seattle University is currently piloting Teams Premium to select users. If these features would benefit you, fill out this form to request to be added to the pilot.Step #1: Determine if you have the Teams Premium license correctly assigned to you.

  1. Go to Teams to schedule a meeting then join the meeting. Your join meeting screen should automatically have SU branding. If it does not, please contact me at agoodwin@seattleu.edu

  1. Once you have joined the meeting, click on the three dots over More. Select Record and Transcribe then start recording if you want to record the meeting and transcribe it in real time. If you only want to transcribe the meeting, select Start Transcription.

  1. When the meeting is over, you can access the meeting recap and transcript from the calendar OR the chat feature will display the meeting name.

Intelligent Meeting Recap

Intelligent recap leverages AI to provide a comprehensive overview of your meeting automatically. The recap tab in the calendar or chat delivers AI-powered insights like automatically generated meeting notes, recommended tasks, and personalized highlights.

Note

Intelligent recap requires each meeting to be recorded and transcribed, which can be turned on during the meeting using the More button or in advance by scheduling the meeting from Teams and turning on the Record automatically toggle.

Live Translated Captions

Teams can detect what’s said in a meeting and present real-time captions in a different language. If you're using the desktop app for Windows or Mac, there are also several caption customization options. Captions can only be translated into one language per meeting. The captions setting is for everyone in the meeting.

Turn captions on and off

  • To use live captions in a meeting, go to your meeting controls at the top of the screen and select More > Language and speechTurn on live captions.

  • To stop using live captions, go to the meeting controls and select More   > Language and speech > Turn off live captions.

To use live translated captions

  1. Turn on live captions in your meeting.

  2. Next to the meeting captions, select Settings .

  3. Select Caption language.

  4. Choose the language you want your captions translated to.

Seattle University Branding on Meeting Join Screen

With Teams Premium, meetings created by you will include a custom meeting join screen with Seattle University branding for all participants.

Advanced Virtual Appointments

Teams Premium enables advanced features in Virtual Appointments, an enhanced version of Bookings appointment scheduling integrated into Teams. The advanced features include custom branding, SMS reminders, queue and analytics interfaces, and clients joining the appointments without the Teams application. To find this app, click the + Apps button and search for “virtual appointments.”

Advanced Webinars and Town Halls

Teams Premium adds capabilities to webinars including registration enhancements, custom communications with attendees, virtual green room for presenters, additional controls on what attendees see, enhanced reporting, and the ability to hide attendee names.

Protect Information by Adding Watermarks and Limiting Recording

Teams Premium allows meeting organizers to add watermarks on screen sharing and limit who is able to turn on recording.
