A Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a secure, encrypted connection between a remote Windows or Mac computer and the Seattle University internal network. It allows access to specific secure internal systems or data that is not accessible directly from the Internet. If you use shared drives (i.e. T and P Drives), Colleague, RDP to your desktop computer on campus, access servers on campus, access InformSU SSRS reports, or use the EMS desktop application, you will need to download and use the VPN.  The Virtual Private Network is available for all Seattle University faculty and staff. It is available to students when required by a specific class. Access for vendors is granted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Service Desk at servicedesk@seattleu.edu to request access.

SeattleU faculty, staff, and students must be enrolled in Microsoft multifactor authentication (MFA) to use GlobalProtect. You will be required to re-authenticate via MFA every 12 hours when using the VPN.

GlobalProtect can be used on current Windows and MacOS operating systems. See the GlobalProtect Setup Guide for the particular operating system to confirm compatibility of your operating system and our GlobalProtect application. Computers running an unsupported operating system, identified as no longer supported by the software manufacturer, cannot use GlobalProtect.
