Use this guide if ArcMap is taking a long time to open because it is getting files from OneDrive

Instructions

  1. Open ArcMap

  2. In the Getting Started window click Cancel

  3. Expand the Catalog menu and click on the Options icon

  4. Select the Home Folder and change the Home Folder path to C:\Users\username\ArcGIS where username is your username

    Example:

  5. Click Apply

  6. Click Yes

  7. Click OK

  8. Close ArcMap and open it again

  9. When starting a new project, the default geodatabase location should look similar to this:

  10. Now you need to save your files to the new folder (Will only need to do this once)

  11. Click File > Save As

  12. Double-click on This PC

    1. Double-click on Local Disk (C:)

    2. Double-click on Users

    3. Double-click on your username

    4. Double-click on the ArcGIS folder

    5. And save your file as usual
