Certain applications, like Canvas, only accept .pdf files for upload. This article explains how to save a MS Office Word document as a .pdf.

Instructions

From the Word doc:

  1. In the upper left corner, click File

  2. Click Save As

  3. Choose a destination for the save

    NOTE
Microsoft applications can be difficult to navigate sometimes, and this part can get very confusing very quickly. SU ITS recommends always saving to your Seattle University OneDrive, but you can save it anywhere you want as long as you can remember where you put it!

  4. Name your document by typing into the box at the top in the middle that reads Enter file name here

  5. Click on the box below that reads Word Document (*.docx) and choose PDF (*.pdf)

  6. Click Save to the right of the two boxes you just used
