Certain applications, like Canvas, only accept .pdf files for upload. This article explains how to save a MS Office Word document as a .pdf.

Instructions

From the Word doc:

  1. In the upper left corner, click File

  2. Click Save As

  3. Choose a destination for the save.

    NOTE:
    SU ITS recommends always saving to your Seattle University OneDrive, but you can save it anywhere you want as long as you can remember where you placed it.

  4. Name your document by typing into the box at the top in the middle that reads Enter file name here

  5. Click on the box below that reads Word Document (*.docx) and choose PDF (*.pdf)

  6. Click Save to the right of the two boxes you just used
