Upgrading Your SU Device to Windows 11

Here you can learn how to update your device from Windows 10 to Windows 11!

Getting Started

• Before you update, make sure the device you want to install Windows 11 on meets minimum system requirements. If your device is currently running Windows 10, we recommend you verify the minimum system requirements using the PC Health Check app. We do not recommend installing Windows 11 on a PC that doesn't meet requirements. Internal deployment of Windows 11 is currently underway as a phased deployment.

• In October 2023, ITS will be pushing the update to Windows 11. Pay attention to email messages reminding you of the mandatory installation date. 

• If you want to upgrade sooner, you can Opt-in by opening Company Portal and installing the App called “Windows 11 Opt-In”.

  • You can follow THESE instructions on how to install an App in Company Portal.

  • The upgrade will happen in the background over the course of the next few days and you will be prompted to reboot as if a Windows Update has been installed once it is done.

  • The reboot can take up to 15 minutes to complete.

  • If your device currently has Windows 10 and you don’t see the “Windows 11 Opt-In” app in Company Portal, there is a chance your computer is not compatible with Windows 11. You can open a ticket with the Service Desk to verify and see if we can fix that.
