How to Reinstall GlobalProtect on a PC

This guide will walk you through uninstalling GlobalProtect completely and installing a fresh version of it.

  1. Click the search icon in the bottom left of your screen

  2. Type in the word “control” — then click on Control Panel.

  3. Once opened, ensure in the top right of this page, the ‘View by' setting is set to Category.

  4. In the bottom left of this window click ‘Uninstall a program’

  5. Click on GlobalProtect, then choose Uninstall on the bar above the list.

  6. Follow the prompts on the screen to uninstall GlobalProtect — You may be prompted to click Yes or No to continue the uninstall, if prompted please choose Yes. If you are asked to enter administrative credentials and after entering your credentials you receive a message similar to ‘The requested action requires elevation’ please submit a ticket with the Service Desk to setup a remote appointment with us.

If there are two GlobalProtect choices, please repeat step 5 and 6 for each instance

7. After all instances of GlobalProtect are removed, please visit https://remote.seattleu.edu and sign in with your SU credentials.

8. Once you are logged in, click the applicable download option. If you aren’t sure what to choose, the ‘Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect Agent’ is generally the correct option.

9. After downloading the program, please open the file and follow the steps to install GlobalProtect.

After the program is done installing, it may open automatically in the bottom right of your screen. If it does not, you may need to click the search icon in the bottom-left of your screen and search for GlobalProtect and click on the app to open it.

10. If you are prompted to enter a “Portal address” once GlobalProtect opens, please enter remote.seattleu.edu

You may be prompted to update GlobalProtect after the installation is complete. If this happens, please click Yes and wait 10 minutes. You should only receive this prompt one time. If you continue to receive this prompt please submit a ticket with the Service Desk.
