Control Touch Panel Instructions
Use the touch panel located on the lectern to control classroom Audio Visual Equipment
Starting screen
Touch anywhere on this screen to turn on the projectors and bring the screens down
Selecting a Video/Audio Source
First, press the button corresponding to the video/audio source you wish to display on the projectors and hear on the speakers, from the options in the first section.
Next, choose which projectors you want to display that source on. Left and Right projectors indicate the projector screens to the left and right of the lectern, while North projector displays on the side wall. Select one or more options, or “All Projectors” to send the chosen video source to all 3 projectors. Once you have made your selection, press “Send.”
You should now see your selected source on the chosen screens.
Mic mute, Audio Mute, Video Mute, and Volume controls
At the top of the screen are the following buttons (shown above in side red rectangles from left to right):
Microphone Mute: Silences the lectern adjustable neck microphone, which is used to amplify sound on the classroom speakers as well as capture sound for Zoom or other web conferencing programs. Will flash when muted.
Audio mute: Silences any audio coming from whichever video/audio source is selected below. Will flash when muted.
Volume Control: Plus and minus buttons turn the master volume up and down, respectively. This affects the volume of the microphone signal as well as the selected video/audio source. There is an individual volume control for the microphone that we will go over below.
Video Mute: Blanks the projector screens, but not the instructor monitor. Will flash when muted
Camera Controls
This classroom has 2 installed Pan, Tilt, Zoom (aka PTZ) cameras for streaming with Zoom or other web-conferencing apps - one at the front and one at the rear of the classroom. Use the touch panel controls pictured below to control the position of the cameras
To bring up these controls, press the “Camera Controls” button at the bottom of the touch panel. The controls will show up on the right side of the screen.
Cam 1/Cam 2 buttons: Use these buttons to determine which camera to control. Note that this does not select which camera is active in your webconference app - you will need to do this in the program’s settings.
Zoom + and - buttons: Use these buttons to zoom the image of the selected camera in and out.
Arrow/home keys: Use the arrows to move the selected camera up and down and side to side. The home preset button will bring the camera back to its default position.
Preset buttons: These will store 3 different camera positions (including their zoom level), allowing users to easily switch between multiple positions. To store a preset, move the selected camera to the desired position, then hold the button for 3 seconds. Press that preset button again later to move the camera back to that position.
Microphone Controls:
This classroom has a podium/lectern microphone, as well as several wireless microphones (found in the lectern side drawer) available for use. Use these controls to adjust the volume of each/all microphones
Bring up Microphone Controls with the button at the bottom of the touch panel.
Use the sliders to control the level of each microphone. Note that the slider being all the way down does not necessarily mean the mic will be silenced.
Use the mute buttons to silence the microphones.
Lighting Controls
You can use these controls to adjust the lighting, in addition to the other light switches in the room.
Use the button at the bottom of the touch panel to access these controls.
Press “All On” for the brightest light setting, “Projection Preset” for a lighting configuration optimized for viewing projector screens, and “All off” to turn off all lights.
Blu Ray Controls
This classroom has an installed Blu Ray Player. Use these controls to operate the player.
When you are done using the classroom Audio Visual system!
Please turn off the projectors by pressing the “System Shutdown” button at the top right of the touch panel. You will then be asked to confirm that you would like to shut down. Do not just press Video Mute, this only blanks the screens, but the projectors will still be running which reduces their lifespan unnecessarily.
