Starting a conversation with a person or group in Teams
On the Teams app, select Chat from the drop-down menu.
Select the New Chat icon and enter any names you would like to send a message to.
Compose your message, and then click send.
Starting a conversation in a Teams channel
On the Teams app, select Teams from the drop-down menu. Next, select the team you would like to send a message to.
Select the New Conversation button and compose your message.
Click Send.
Using emojis, memes, and GIFs in Teams
Open a chat or channel that you want to send a message to.
Click the Sticker icon under the “type message” box.
Pick a meme, emoji, or GIF you would like to use in your message. You can use the Search feature to find specific stickers.
Mentioning someone in Teams
To get someone’s attention in a Teams group chat or channel, type “@” and then add the name of the person you want to mention.
To mention a whole team, type @Team.
To mention everyone who has favorited a channel, type @Channel.
Enabling channel notifications in Teams
On the Teams app, select Teams from the drop-down menu. Next, select the channel you would like to enable notifications for.
Click the thee dots (…) next to the name of the channel. Next, select Channel Notifications.
Enable notifications for the channel.
To check for notifications, select Activity from the drop-down menu.
From the activity section, you can see your Feed, which is where your notifications will pop up.
