Starting a Call on Teams Phones

On the Teams desktop app

Starting a call with the dial pad

  1. Navigate to the Calls section.

  2. Search a name, or dial any number, then press Call.

Below the dial pad you can also see your Teams phone number.

Starting a call from contacts

  1. From the Calls tab, at the top of the screen select the Contacts tab.

  2. These contacts will sync from your Outlook.

  3. You can also add a contact

    1. To add a contact inside of your organization simply type in their name and click add

    2. To add a contact outside of your organization type in the number of the person you’re trying to add. Then click add and enter the additional information.

  4. To start a call from contacts, click the phone icon next to the contact’s name.

Starting a call from call history

  1. From the Calls tab you can see a history of all inbound, outbound, and missed calls.

  2. Hover over the call you want to dial to and select Call.

On a physical Teams phone

Starting a call with the dial pad:

  1. Dial any number using the physical dial pad.

  2. Either pick up the handset to begin the call, or press “Call“ at the bottom to begin the call on speaker.

Starting a call from contacts:

  1. From the home screen, press the … More button, then People.

  2. These contacts will sync from your outlook client.

  3. If you don’t see who you are looking for:

a.      In the top right corner of the screen select the magnifying glass, “search”.

b.      Begin typing the name of the person using the on-screen keypad.

c.      Select the person when they appear.

d.      To call them, click the phone icon below their name.

Starting a call from call history:

  1. From the calls section you can see your favorite/speed-dial contacts, and if you select the Recent tab, you can see the history of all inbound, outbound, and missed calls.

  2. Select a favorite or a recent call to begin calling the user/number.
