View SharePoint Site Analytics
Following the steps in this article requires that the user is an Owner for the site they are attempting to gather analytics on.
Understanding how your SharePoint site is used can help you improve its structure, content, and overall user experience. SharePoint provides built-in analytics tools that allow site owners to gather detailed insights about site usage and search queries. This article will guide you through accessing and using these tools effectively.
Site Usage Analytics
For more information on site usage analytics: View usage data for your SharePoint site - Microsoft Support
When on a site that you own, click the settings gear in the upper right corner of the screen, then click Site Usage.
If the site you are on is a hub site, you will see the option to view either Hub usage data or Site usage data on the right side of the screen. This drop-down allows you to choose between seeing information for just the site you are on, or for seeing all of the sites that are connected to that hub site.
When reviewing a single site's analytics, you can access statistics on unique viewers, total site visits, and the average time users spend on the site. You can also view insights into the most popular site pages, news posts, and documents stored in the site's document library. Additionally, graphs display device type usage and highlight the most popular times of day for site visits. A report can also be generated from this page, providing detailed information about files shared with external users.
Site Search Analytics
